GF Gran Costa Adeje and GF Fañabé hotels install new photovoltaic panels
The energy supplied by the 668 panels is equivalent to the average consumption of 1700 hotel rooms
GF Hotels is committed to renewable energy with the installation of 668 new photovoltaic panels at GF Gran Costa Adeje and GF Fañabé. With this action, the hotel chain reduces 80 tons of CO2 per year. In the words of Juan Carlos de León, Director of Operations at GF Hotels, “the energy supplied by the 668 panels is equivalent to about 500 trees planted annually, as well as the average consumption of 1,700 hotel rooms.
The hotel chain has taken the step towards clean energy with the help of the European Regional Development Fund ERDF, an action that represents one more step to meet its sustainable development objectives. In addition, de León “encourages private tourism companies to bet on this type of investment, because we realize that this is demanded in destinations such as the Canary Islands and we are judged by what we do in terms of sustainability”.
