Ice Skating

Although Tenerife is synonymous with sunny weather, beach and sand, it also offers all kinds of activitiesto ensure that its visitors and residents never have an excuse to get bored. Those who like the heat, can enjoy the beach or the pools. For lovers of lower temperatures, not only is there Mount Teide for bracing walks, and where there may even be snow; but in the resorts and cities, you will also find ice skating rinks where the cold adds to the atmosphere and lends itself to a fun time. During Christmastime, in Tenerife North and South, there are several rinks available and they are ideal places to go as a couple or even with children!

Exhibition of Nativity Scenes

Is there anything more symbolic at Christmastime than a nativity scene?  In the Canary Islands, this is something that perfectly represents the Christmas season, whilst, at the same time, recreates the native culture. At different points in Tenerife you can findartistic and original versions of the biblical manager scene. As you view each crib, in addition to appreciating the art of its creators, you can also taste some wine from the islands or try the typical Christmas sweets such as Las Truchas, which are like sugar-covered pastries stuffed with sweet potato or Cabello de de Ángel – cinnamon or citrus favoured pumpkin jam.This is an experience of the true essence of Christmas, far beyond the purchases and obligations. Fairs

There are many municipalities in Tenerife which offer exclusive spaces to both tourists and residents for recreation and diversion for the whole family. In the north and south of the island, you will find some typical fairs that add to the fun of the season. They consist of various attractions for children and adults that include Noria, also known as Wheel of Fortune, bouncy castles, Viking Boat, children’s car circuits, karts, bumper cars, rodeo, trampolines … you will also find games and competitions offering prizes, as well as fast food kiosks and typical sweets. It is a very nice outing that you can do as a couple, with friends or families with children.Fun is assured!

Shows

In Tenerife, the Christmas season is spent in many different ways and there is something for all tastes. What is undeniable is that,at all times, the environment is enveloped by lights, magic, joy and music. There are exclusive places where art can touch the senses and awaken incredible emotions and sensations. Throughout the year, but especially at Christmas, different venues host shows and concerts of great cultural interest. One of them is the Tenerife Adán Martín Auditorium, located in Santa Cruz, the capital of the island. Here you can enjoy concerts and shows such as those of the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, with the whole family. There is also the Infanta Leonor Auditorium in Los Cristianos, where you will find some of the best and well-known theatre productions as well as dance and other displays.
