The climate of our island makes it an ideal destination to practice water sports in Tenerife like surf, windsurf, kitesurf, diving, kayak, among others.
We invite you to discover the offer of aquatic activities in Tenerife. You can enjoy it whether you are staying at our hotels in the south of the island (GF Victoria, GF Gran Costa Adeje, GF Fañabe and GF Isabel) or in the north (GF Noelia)
Diving
Tenerife’s seabed is one of the favourites for lovers of diving. It hides a world of incalculable beauty in which the underwater fauna of the island inhabits. Be surprised by the giant meros, bicudas or the impressive lobsters in a unique and very special trip to the seabed of Tenerife. The coast of the island hides beautiful reefs, sunken ships and turtle bays. Are you ready to discover them?
Snorkel
If diving does not convince you, you always have the option to snorkel, very popular in Tenerife for its crystal-clear waters. You only need a breathing tube, mask and fins to move more easily in the water. Normally, thanks to our good weather and the shallow depth, you will not need a suit, but you can always rent one if you prefer it. Live a different experience practicing snorkelling in Tenerife!
Surf/Paddle surf
A sport of adrenaline and communion with the sea. On this holiday you have to try it! Both in the north of the island, and in the south, you will find incredible beaches where this sport can be practiced. You can rent material (neoprene, board, etc.) or, if you prefer, you can start in this sport with a personalized class with professional instructors. We are lucky that our excellent climate means you can enjoy all these sports at any time of the year.
Kayak
If you prefer a slightly more relaxed sport, there’s the kayak. Sail in sea kayak along the coast of the island. An impressive and highly recommended journey is the coast of the cliffs of Los Gigantes. No doubt, an exciting experience to add to your holiday.
Windsurf
The peculiar geography of the Canarian archipelago allows you to find numerous beaches with much appreciated winds for the practice of Windsurf, among them, the trade winds. Although the months in which windsurf is most practiced are between April and September, it can be enjoyed throughout the year, regardless of the tide. The southern part of the island is ideal for practicing this sport.
Kitesurf
It’s a dynamic sport, fun, quick to learn and with an element of risk. That’s why we always recommend learning it in an Official School with professional instructors. It is practiced with a board and a big kite, needing the wind to give power to the kite. Tenerife, for its beaches and its climate, is an ideal location to learn and practice this sport. In the southern part of the island, El Medano is one of the ideal areas where you can take courses and practice Kitesurf with total safety.
