The south of Tenerife also celebrates its Carnivals!

Are you ready for the south Tenerife Carnival? The carnivals of Tenerife are known for being among the best in the world. Some people even think they are number one, for many different reasons. But what they do not know, until they have lived it, is that Tenerife is such a joyful island and celebrating is not limited to the established dates and the capital city area.

In the south of Tenerife Carnival huge parties also take place,and they are becoming more and more popular, and attract more participants each year.

One of the main tourist areas in the south of the island is Los Cristianos, within the municipality of Arona, and this is where the carnivals of the south take place, in the week following those celebrated in the capital.

The International Carnival of Los Cristianos, Arona 2017 presents a program for all ages and publics, beginning on March 17th with the Presentation of the Candidates for Child Carnival Queen, and Adult Carnival Queen for 2017.

The lively agenda includesphotographic exhibitions, wig parties, parades, concerts, shows, typical musical groups, dances, choreographies, and costume competitions.

Visitors can also enjoy the Drag Queen Gala and the Galas for the election of the Child and Adult Carnival Queens of Los Cristianos International Carnival, Arona 2017.

On Saturday March 25th, the day is dedicated to early-morning partygoers, as the 2017 Day Carnival is celebrated from 11:00 a.m.

On the penultimate day there is an exhibition of classic and antique cars, followed by the Grand Parade.

And the highlight, to close the festivities, on Monday 27ththe night is stained with black and glitter. From 9pm onwards, see the fusion of satire, mourning, humour and laughter as we see unfold the Burial of the Sardine.
