GF Victoria was the starting point for the Fedola Family Run

With more than 500 participants, the race organized by the Fedola Group exceeds expectations and raises more than eight thousand euros for three NGOs from the Canary Islands

The success of participation in the Fedola Family Run confirms the recovery of Costa Adeje as a reference location for sports races. GF Victoria was the starting point where more than 500 runners participated in order to enjoy the sports experience in a festive and supportive atmosphere.

The space, created around Calle Fernando López, went beyond sports to become a Saturday afternoon-evening celebration. With the burgundy shirt of the Fedola Family Run, it was possible to see both great athletes and children accompanied by their families, which was, in short, one of the great objectives of the race.

The afternoon began showing the most collaborative profile with children’s races in all their categories: from teenagers to babies who barely crawled a couple of meters. Immediately after, one of the most demanded modalities began, the test in which numerous families signed up to run 500 meters.

The atmosphere grew in intensity with the start of the main distances, to the rhythm of the musical group Comparsa Tropicana’s batucada. The runners had the Ocean Cross ahead of them, an attractive circuit known by runners for combining stretches of asphalt and sand, during the sunset and bordering the beaches of Costa Adeje. Jonay González and Ana Boullón in the 10 kilometer race, and Jorge Santos and Guada Arnedo in the 5 kilometer race, dominated the challenges that made up the competition. The care of all the sporting and administrative details of this event was carried out by Canaryrun as a specialized firm, in collaboration with the Adeje City Council.

Sports and a supportive environment

The other great objective was the character of solidarity that exceeded all expectations, as confirmed by the president of Grupo Fedola, Victoria López, “we could not be happier to have raised more than eight thousand euros for the NGOs. We know that it serves as a “respite” for so many people with difficulties, but I would like to highlight the spirit of collaboration that has been experienced this afternoon. We are a company from here and our commitment to society is part of our corporate culture”.

This atmosphere of involvement was what the Group’s Vice President and Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, Ana Belén López, wished to highlight. “I want to thank the participants, companies and volunteers who have been involved so that the first edition of the Fedola Family Run is measured not just for its sporting success, but also for the enjoyment and happiness of hundreds of supportive faces.”

The Councilor for Tourism and Sports of the Adejera Corporation, Adolfo Afonso, and the Councilor for Security and Social Affairs, Mercedes Vargas, were present at the award ceremony.

More than eight thousand euros will go equally to the three NGOs that were also present on this day of celebration: Anchieta Association, Nahia Assistance Association and the Quesada Sánchez Foundation. The three organizations work with at risk groups of social exclusion such as children, single mothers, migrants or the elderly.
