The best restaurants of Tenerife
Tenerife’s gastronomy is enjoying a moment of splendour. The support that GF Hotels gives to the development and growth of this sector is, to this day, unconditional.
Through signature restaurants such as Donaire, in the GF Victoria 5* GL; or La Laja, in the GF Gran Costa Adeje, we show our commitment to Canarian flavours, the most innovative techniques and the most satisfying gastronomic experience.
In this post we propose to make a selection of the most recommended restaurants in Tenerife.
The best restaurants in Tenerife
El Rincón de Juan Carlos (Los Gigantes)
A classic in the rankings of the best rated restaurants. Run by Juan Carlos and Jonathan Padrón, it offers a unique concept in cuisine, with Canarian products taking all the leading roles. With a Michelin star behind them, they are especially famed for their creativity and for their transformative vision of gastronomy.
San Sebastián 57 (Santa Cruz de Tenerife)
The dishes prepared by Chef Alberto González Margallo, are an explosion of freshness and colour, but without flamboyance. The honesty of his creations is the foundation; something which has brought him numerous awards and recognition. Within the selection of dishes we find flavours inspired by the Atlantic, but also including traditional recipes of Lanzarote. Undoubtedly, an experience not to miss during your next visit to the capital
Restaurant Haydée (La Orotava)
The architects of this innovative concept restaurant which combines the Canary Islands with Asia, are siblings Víctor and Laura Suárez. Victor is passionate about cooking and has worked with chefs such as Eneko Atxa, the Adrià brothers and Martín Berasategui; Laura is an elegant pastry chef who has shaped her identity in restaurants such as La Cabra and Diverxo. Their commitment to haute cuisine in the islands, along with Asian influences, have made this one of the most appealing restaurants currently on the scene; a compelling reason to come and try their creations on 21st November during their time at restaurant La Laja (Hotel GF Gran Costa Adeje).
Nub (San Cristóbal de La Laguna)
The most recent restaurant on the island to join the Michelin list. Its leaders, Andrea Bernardi and Fernanda Fuentes Cárdenas, run a kitchen with much personality, and they have become valued participants on the current scene. Their approach combines a philosophy of solidarity with the environment and the development of flavours based on techniques thoroughly studied and tested. Of course, before going, we recommend you take a look at their website to see the variety of dishes on offer, including some amazing experiments such as the ‘Canarian Truffle’.
La Posada del Pez (San Andrés)
Here, we find Galicia without leaving Tenerife, but presenting the indigenous fish of the islands. This well-known venue, run by Carlos Villas and Silvia Puertas, offers traditional flavours without renouncing the best in quality. If your preference is for modern and personalized dishes, we recommend you visit the lower part of the establishment; here you will find Abikore, the new business line of the establishment, directed by the Peruvian chef Tadashi Tagami.
