Today, at the International Tourism Fair in Madrid, GF Gran Costa Adeje received the CaixaBank Award for Innovation and Modernization of Tourism Companies’, in the category ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’, an award that recognizes best practices in sustainability, environmental respect and social positioning. Victoria López, president of Grupo Fedola, accepted the distinction from Andrés Guerra, commercial director of CaixaBank Companies in the Canary Islands.

Victoria López values this award as a “recognition that comes after years of work placing people at the centre of management. We decided to extend our actions to include the environment where we live because we are part of the Canarian society with its great virtues, as well as important needs. ”

The jury, made up of representatives from CaixaBank and Ashotel, Feht Las Palmas, Asolan and Asofuer associations, has assessed the performance of GF Gran Costa Adeje in CSR through different actions and projects that range from its environmental commitment, the formation of personnel, labour acquisitions, as well as its continued economic growth.

CSR has been part of the culture of GF Hotels for more than 10 years. The reduction of carbon footprint emissions by 62%; the collaborative agreement with the Anchieta Association for the Reintegration of Minors; the development and promotion of human teams; as well as the promotion of the equal use of the conciliation measures available in the company, are some of the practices that the financial entity is rewarding.

This recognition is in line with the Corporate Social Responsibility Seal (CSR) granted by the Cabildo of Tenerife in 2016; a certification that endorses the work carried out by GF Gran Costa Adeje on projects that have a direct benefit for  society and that integrate naturally with their daily business activity. GF Hoteles is also a prescribing partner of the UN Global Compact, the world’s largest voluntary initiative in corporate social responsibility.
