The Ministry of Tourism for the Canary Islands Government highlights the Canary Islands hotel chain GF Hoteles as a benchmark in sustainable management after receiving the ISO 21401: 2019 certification within the framework of the International Tourism Fair of Madrid (Fitur). Victoria López, president of Grupo Fedola, and Ángel Tomás, commercial director of the chain, collected the distinction at the Canary Islands stand with the Minister for Tourism, Yaiza Castilla, and Francisco Martín, director of Bureau Veritas.

In the words of Victoria López, “this is confirmation of the commitment we took on over 11 years ago to be sustainable and protect our environment. Without doubt, this is the way forward for many companies.”

Likewise, Yaiza Castilla highlighted GF Hoteles as “an example of the objective we want to achieve in tourism accommodation companies with sustainable management. We are working to achieve a sustainable tourist destination that is respectful of the environment; they are an example to follow.”

The Canary Islands hotel chain is the first in Europe and the third in the world to obtain this certification for complying with the environmental, social and economic requirements of the sustainability management system for tourist accommodation.
